Norsepower Joins Hands With Wärtsilä To Strengthen Global Wind Propulsion Service Network

A service cooperation agreement has been entered by Norsepower Oy Ltd. and Wärtsilä. Norsepower is one of the leading provider of wind propulsion systems that are low on maintenance, operated by software and data verified while Wärtsilä is the world’s leader in smart technologies. They have joined hands to bring in solutions that will strengthen the marine and energy sector.

Norsepower’s manufacturing capacity has increased and with that there has also been a great growth in the global demand of its Rotor Sails. This collaboration will help in large scale work and will furthermore strengthen its customer service with the global supplier network of Wärtsilä.

Norsepower’s CSO, Jukka Kuuskoski said, “Due to the rapid rise of demand for modern wind propulsion in shipping, Norsepower Rotor Sails are expected to be installed on multiple vessels in the near future.

Norsepower provides services to both local and international shipowners. It is continuously working towards providing a reliable service to its customers. With the global service network of Wärtsilä, Norsepower is set to provide custom services to its customers in order to match their requirements.

Norsepower was laughed in 2014 and has already witnessed the installation aboard three vessels, with the fourth one to be installed in 2020. The CO2 output has been reduced by about 5,000 tons in this time period by Norsepower Rotor Sails. They come in the heights of 18, 24 and 30 metres, the Rotor Sails’ size and number installed are custom-futted so that they are according to the operating profile of the vessel and thereby providing solutions that are vesatile and safe.
