“K” LINE, MOL & NYK Share Data With ONE Through Common Data Platform “IoS-OP”

The operation data that is collected by the monitoring systems that are are placed in the vessels will be shared by Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE), Mitsui O.S.K Lines, Ltd. (MOL), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK). This will done by their charter Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE), through the IoS-Open Platform (IoS-OP) that the Ship Data Center Ltd. (ShipDC) promotes.

The data managed by the three companies is by different framework so ONE had to perform the data conversion. To make it like ISO19848, converting the IoS-OP’s automatic conversion function to the standard names. This will be provided by ShipDC. The burden of data conversion is met which results in making the analysis simple and also the integrated operational data of ONE’s fleet’s management.

This data will be used by ONE in order to improve the evaluation of performance accuracy of vessels individually and machinery and thereby, achieve more safe and efficient vessel operations.

By using the IoS-OP, the volume of ship operational data that is distributed will increae in volume due to the data sharing. Thereby, contributing for the increase in data collection, distribution, and utilization through IoS-OP within the maritime industry.
