Indian Oil Launches New Marine Fuel Grades In Line With IMO 2020

Two new marine fuel grades and a lubricant range were launched by Indian Oil at an international bunker meet, Bunker ConFab 2019 which was held in Mumbai.

The new range of fuel grades are according to the IMO’s new 2020 regulation that has limited the sulphur content to 0.5% from the current 3.5%.

The new range lubricants feature the lower reserve alkalinity in order to be in line with the IMO 2020 fuels. From the mid of October 2019, this marine fuel will be available at Indian Ports.

Among the attendees of the meet were ship owners and Bunkering Trading Companies from India. Singapore and Fujairah that are the world’s top bunkering hubs were also present. The launch of Marine fuels and lubricants that comply with the IMO 2020 by the Indian Oil was highly appreciated by the global maritime sector. This also makes India a trusted bunkering destination by putting it on the global map of Ship Bunkering.
