BLRT Grupp Completes Modernization Of The Largest Floating Dock In Baltic Region

On the 20th of September, the largest floating dock that will serve the Post-Panamax, Panamax and Aframax vessels was delivered to Klaipeda. Its modernization was done at the shipyard in Naantali.

Temporarily the dock has been moored at the Western Baltija Shipbuilding shipyard of the Group. It will wait here for the commissioning that is scheduled to be in the summer of 2020. In this interval the work of infrastructure expansion of the port of Klaipeda, production capacity expansion of BLRT Group companies and other operators that are located in the port will be done.

The dock was acquired by the BLRT Grupp in 2016 from the Adriatic Shipyard Bijela in Montenegro.

This dock will be installed at the Western Shipyard of the Group in Klaipeda. Its dimension being 235 meters long and 45 meters wide makes it the largest in the Baltic countries. It will bring in new opportunities for the ship owners and shipyards so as to carry out repair and modernization projects of Post-Panamax, Panamax and Aframax vessels.
