ABS and Topaz Energy and Marine along with the State Maritime Agency that comes under Republic of Azerbaijan’s (ASMA) Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies announced about the implementation of a project that will allow for a condition based survey.
The combined visionary approach of Topaz, ABS and ASMA is a great achievement for the Topaz’s journey of transformation from fleets to a condition based class model.
Caspian Voyager that is Topaz’s largest modern Platform Supply Vessel in the Caspian has acted as a connecting link for this transition by it’s entry into the Extended Dry Docking (EDD) Scheme.
The maximum dry-docking period will be extended from 5 year’s to 7.5 years for the vessel. This will allow the vessel to perform In-Water Surveys (IWS) thereby resulting in higher availability and productivity.
Christopher J. This partnership between Topaz, ABS, and AMSA is the beginning towards the many condition-based classification regime. This will align the maintenance strategy of Topaz’s with that of the ABS’s future condition-based class rules. This will result in the shift to condition based survey from the perspective based ones.
