NYK Examines Business Integration Of Three Research And Technical Subsidiaries

NYK has begun to prepare for the amalgamation of three of the NYK Group’s research and technical subsidiaries, i.e., Japan Marine Science Inc., Yusen Navtec Co. Ltd., and NYK Engineering Co. Ltd.

Details
The three research and technical subsidiaries will be amalgamated after approval is received at each company’s general meeting of shareholders in May 2019.

An overview of the new company will be as follows:

Trade name: Undecided
President: Koichi Akamine, current president of Japan Marine Science Inc.
Location: Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan (i.e., the current location of the head office of Japan Marine Science Inc.)
Amalgamation date: July 1, 2019 (to be scheduled)

Purpose of Integration
The social structure and the business environment surrounding the NYK Group is dramatically changing. NYK would integrate the management resources of each company to increase efficiencies and create value in accordance with the group’s medium-term management plan “Staying Ahead 2022 with Digitalization and Green.”
